Snapshot – October 2022

It’s been a while and I’ve lots to share about our adventures this year but to kick it off here’s a little snapshot post to get me back in the game. I’ll probably slot the adventures posts into where they belong chronologically too so this may not make much sense to someone reading in the future.

Listening to… a concertina being played downstairs, but more usually Taylor Swift is on Alexa or I’m listening to an audio book in the car. The Corn song is catchy, my teenager has Ye (that’s what they call Kanye) on a loop and Laoise and I saw the local secondary school production of High School Musical this week so all those songs are in my head.

Watching… We just finished watching “Only Murders in the Building” and I loved it. Next up is Bad Sisters, we’re only 2 episodes in and I feel like one of the sisters, can Sharon Horgan do no wrong?

Reading… I’ve The Goldfinch on Audiobook and am getting through it slowly. I recently listened to Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid  and was hooked. I read Foster by Claire Keegan last week, such a beautiful little book

Drinking… nothing much different to be honest, my daily flat white from Fika by Daniel (sometimes accompanied by a white chocolate nut bar) is hitting the spot. No need for the Pumpkin Spice.

Wearing…the same jeans and jumpers on repeat, leggings on sports days

Trying… to get back running, I had a wobble, but I’m back with my couch 2 5K group and really enjoying it

Cookingsoup and casseroles, real autumn food

Looking forward… to our annual Ballycross Apple Farm visit this weekend. We’ve been going since Laoise was a baby and love it there

Dreading...the electricity bill, all the coverage of price increases has me fearful

Grateful for… time off work next week, time off GAA training these evenings
