About a year ago I happened on Lollipops and Daydreams on Instagram, and an obsession was born.

I bought Laoise this dress to start with and then between market nights we slowly built up a collection.

We were chosen to be brand reps last year and recently Maria asked if she could send me some of her beautiful new collection to review. Since I’d shared her outfits regularly I was delighted to take her up on the offer and Laoise took delivery of three beautiful pieces including her first ever cape.

The reason we loved Lollipops and Daydreams from the outset was that the clothes are pretty yet practical, they’re comfortable to wear and are properly age-appropriate. She can and does climb trees in them, there’s nothing to snag or catch, they’re comfortable for her to wear, and she feels pretty in them.

In our experience the dresses are washed and worn repeatedly and still look great, they iron up beautifully, testament to their excellent quality. The patterns are real attention-grabbers, we’ve regularly been asked where her rainbows and unicorns dress is from. Prices range from €28 for the blue frill dress that Laoise is wearing further down the page in age 3-4 , €36 for the Unicorn one below up to €60 for the more limited edition fabrics. Prices depend on the style and size of the dress and the fabric.

This year’s designs are absolutely gorgeous, with Maria adding to the simple pinafores that have become Laoise’s uniform with dresses with Peter Pan collars, frills, and very funky 70s style tops with mismatched patterns.

Everything is made by Maria in her studio in Co. Carlow, where she moved after giving up her job in finance when her daughter was born, she has two sons since too, all three model the clothes for her. (Yes, she designs boys’ clothes too). So, not alone are you buying your children beautiful clothes but you’re supporting a small Irish business too.

Maria’s love of children’s clothes is obvious and her sewing skills are matched by her talent for design, she not only makes the clothes but designs them herself too, including some of the fabrics. This year she’s launched her first ever full collection for Spring/Summer16  with new fabrics, and beautiful new designs.

You can buy Lollipops and Daydreams clothing on their website  Lollipops and Daydreams and you should also check out Maria’s Facebook page as she often runs Market Nights on Facebook.

Disclosure: We received some items of clothing for Laoise in exchange for this review, but opinions are my own honest view. We have been loyal customers of Lollipops and Daydreams for some time and will continue to be into the future!
