I’m calling this the summer edition as I have been remiss in publishing my Netflix Stream Team posts lately, we were on holidays but now we’re back it’s well and truly Netflix weather, so hopefully some of these gems will keep you and yours busy.
Here’s some Netflix news
For the Adults:
Orange is the New Black Season 3 has been available for streaming since June
Sense8 a new American sci-fi series has also been available since early June. It’s really different, the plot revolves around eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become mentally and emotionally linked. Check it out and see what you think.
Despicable Me 2 No, I didn’t mean to put this in the kids’ section, it’s great, watch it, Minions are in
For the Kids:
The boys have been glued to Dragons: Race to the Edge, a new Netflix original series from DreamWorks Animation, creator of the blockbuster ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ films. They love watching the adventures of Hiccup and Toothless and have been really enjoying a treasure chest full of Dragons goodies that Netflix kindly sent to us.
Did you know that Peppa Pig is now available on Netflix? It’s packaged in four episode slots that give enough time for a cup of tea and a facebook browse.
The Inspector Gadget movie was recently added too and we’ve added it to our list of ones to watch.
One of my own favourites, a gentle cartoon Curious George is available now too.
Looking to the Future
Beasts of No Nation is a new film based on the novel by Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala, which tells the tale of a child soldier torn from his family to fight in the civil war of an African country. Written and directed by Emmy Award winner Cary Fukunaga and starring Golden Globe® winner Idris Elba that will debut Friday, 16 October 2015, globally on Netflix. You can watch the trailer for it here
What have you and your kids been watching on Netflix lately?
Disclosure: I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team and received a Netflix subscription and an Apple TV in return for posting Netflix updates and reviews, however, all opinions are my own, and I already had a personal subscription before joining the Stream Team.
As a Netflix Stream Team newbie I’m reading all Netflix posts for recommendations! Orange Is The New Black and Sense8 are on my list…and that new Beast movie 🙂
If you’re a newbie Breaking Bad and a The Killing subtitled version are essential viewing. And the bridge and house of cards!
