This month has flown, the school routines are firmly in place and the knees are already out of the school tracksuits.
I find that the kids (and the parents) find September very busy between back to school and birthday parties we’re on the go constantly. That’s why I’ve let the kids chill a bit and sat on the couch eating popcorn abs watching TV with them, sometimes they need to veg out too.
Here’s what’s new to Netflix lately:
Go Diego Go: the boys went through a Diego obsession and when we go on “adventures” they fight over who gets to be Diego, Dora’s older cousin who’s a bit of an animal expert. My boys aged 3-6 are big Diego fans, parents, I’d advise you to watch ahead or brush up on your knowledge of chinchillas and armadillos before the kids start putting you to shame!
Get nostalgic with TinTin – I’m definitely going to make the boys watch this (my brother was a big fan when he was around Ciarán’s age) and The Magic Roundabout too just for old time’s sake.
And Netflix announced this week that they’re bringing back another old favourite as a Netflix Original Series, Popples! Remember Popples, the toys that had their own cartoon in the 80’s? They were cuddly toys that transformed from fluffy ball to cuddly characters. It’ll be 2015 before it’s on our screens but it’s one to look forward to.
For the adults- the James Bond movie Skyfall is a recent addition and worth the watch.
And in other most excellent news, I forgot to tell you all, I DID make the final ten of the “Best Blogpost” competition in the Blog Awards Ireland. I’m also a finalist in the “Best Parenting Blog” category. The awards ceremony is Saturday 4th October, wish me luck!
Disclosure: I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team and received a Netflix subscription and an Apple TV in return for posting Netflix updates and reviews, however, all opinions are my own, and I already had a personal subscription before joining the Stream Team.
