Banana Mushies

This isn’t a recipe, more a “what we did and ate”. Banana Mushies came about by accident. It started with talk of bananas and then cashew nuts came up and suddenly we had a bowl full of yum right there.

A Mushie is a nice sweet mini-meal snack or treat and could even be passed off as dessert if you add chocolate sprinkles.

The boys got stuck in mushing and choosing what to put in, but they enjoyed the eating more. It’s definitely a quick fix that we will make again, maybe this time with different combinations, dried fruit, cinnamon, coconut, other nuts and more chocolate, there are so many that you could try. Not all at once though.

Cathal’s Banana Mushie

1 small ripe banana (a bit dotty is grand)
1 teaspoon peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
1 teaspoon sunflower seeds

As the name suggests, you mush everything together. Mash the banana with a fork in a small bowl, then add the rest of the ingredients, stir and eat immediately.

[Cathal ate his before I remembered to photograph it]

Ciarán’s Banana Mushie

1 small ripe banana (a bit dotty is grand)
1 teaspoon cashew nuts
1 teaspoon chocolate chips or sprinkles
1 teaspoon porridge oats

As above, mash the banana with a fork in a small bowl.

Add the other ingredients, mix and eat immediately.

If you like reserve the sprinkles or a little of the porridge to go on top instead of mushing it.
